First things, first....the class is ASTU 4450, it's been bothering me since the first class day.
The preface from Expanded Cinema I found difficult to follow.
Metaphors of Vision tried desperately to make a case in the opening lines for how we kill the innocent vision of an infant by teaching them to classify what they see. This I find to be ludicrous because we do not know what an infant sees and also, as we know the given classification of something; we gain an understanding of it. From this point, we can make its classification our own.
Kino Eye had some interesting points, such as how the camera can be perfected more than the human eye and how through times the camera has been liberated from facsimiles of the world as the human eye sees things.
